Hi, I’m Scout!
I’m a friendly, curious, and adventurous guy who loves being around my people just as much as I love being outside. If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts cuddle buddy and explorer, I might be your match.
I’m very affectionate and thrive on attention—pets, cuddles, and praise are some of my favorite things. I’m also very food-motivated (cheese and meat are the way to my heart), which makes me eager to learn and fun to train. I already know my basic cues like sit, stay, and lay down, and I’m continuing to work on my recall.
One of my cutest quirks? I’m missing my front bottom teeth, so sometimes my tongue sticks out to the side when I lick—it’s pretty adorable if I do say so myself. I’m also incredibly gentle when taking treats or playing, and I absolutely love jumping around in the snow and running full tilt outside.
When I’m not zooming around, I’m happy to relax nearby—lying at your feet, hanging out on my bed, or watching the world go by through the window. I do best when I get a chance to burn off some energy, otherwise I might get a little restless and whiny to let you know I’m ready for action.
I love meeting new people and enjoy other dogs, especially those who give me clear cues. Cats may be tempting to chase, so any feline roommates would need to be dog-savvy.
I’d do best in a home with a yard and people who have the time and patience to continue my training and help me settle into my new life. I have so much love to give—I just can’t wait to share it with my forever family.
Scout came to hart from our community of focus and is up to date on his DACPP, Bordatella, and Rabies vaccinations. Scout is neutered and microchipped.
A big thank you to Ozubko Realty for sponsoring our vaccinations.
Scout is adjusting to indoor life after years of being a free-roaming dog and is making steady progress with his house-training and daily routines. He benefits from regular routines, consistent enrichment, and positive reinforcement as he builds new habits. Scout may need some extra patience as he settles into a new home, but with steady support he continues to improve and will thrive with adopters who can guide his transition.
