Hi there, I’m Nugget—a sweet and gentle girl with a heart full of love and a nose made for sniffing! I’m a young pup who’s blossoming more every day in my foster home, and I’m finally ready to find my forever family.

I’m affectionate with my foster parents and love spending time with my doggy foster sisters—we play a lot! I’d love a home with another friendly dog who can be my buddy and help show me the ropes. I’m also respectful of cats, even though I was a bit too curious at first. I’ve learned to give them space when they need it.

One of my favorite things to do is nap in the grass after some good sniffing around the yard. I really love squeaky stuffed toys and sometimes play with them all by myself! I enjoy being close to my people and will gently paw at you to ask for pets. I’m working on building confidence in new places and with the leash, so I’ll need someone patient who can help me learn at my own pace. I do great with crate training—I sleep there all night and rest there calmly during the day.

I’m house trained, super smart, and eager to please. I’ve got a great recall and am working on “sit.” I can get a little nervous at the vet or with new people, but I warm up once I feel safe. I bark at things outside sometimes—I’m just doing my job as a good guard dog!

All I really need is a calm, loving home with a fenced yard, another playful pup, and kind people who will help me keep growing into the amazing dog I’m meant to be.

Could you be my forever?

Nugget, along with her brother, came to HART from Parkland County Animal Shelter as a stray. Nugget has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date with DACPP, rabies, bordatella and antiparasitics.

Nugget is a gentle, affectionate dog who thrives with routine and calm companionship. She enjoys relaxing in the yard, playing with squeaky toys, and spending time with her foster dog siblings. Nugget will do best with a patient adopter who can support her through slow transitions and help her build confidence in new environments and around unfamiliar people.
