Hi, I’m Doug, and I’m basically a big puppy in a grown-dog body. I live in a busy foster home with two adults, a teenage girl, another dog, four cats, and even a turtle. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think about the cats—they were kind of scary, then kind of interesting—but now I mostly leave them alone. Sometimes I think they might want to play, but with a little reminder, I’m calm and respectful. I’m just young, goofy, and still learning how the world works.

I absolutely love people. When my foster family comes home, I get so excited it’s hard to contain myself. I used to jump a lot, but I’m learning not to, and I understand “don’t jump” pretty well now. I also enjoy meeting new people and settle quickly once the excitement passes. Other dogs are my favorite—I just want to play, play, and play some more. Having a dog buddy would be a dream come true for me.

Walks are one of the best parts of my day. I’m great on a leash, don’t pull, and enjoy taking my time sniffing everything and exploring the neighborhood. Snow is pure joy for me—I love rolling around in it like it’s the greatest thing ever invented.

When things slow down, I can get a little whiny because I don’t want the fun to stop, but I kennel extremely well. My crate is my calm place, and I settle in quickly. I’m also excellent in the car and love going for rides, and errands.

I’m sweet, social, and full of love. I really just want to be part of a family who includes me, walks me, plays with me, and lets me belong.

Doug arrived into harts care from one of our community partners. Doug is up to date on DACPP, Bordatella, and Rabies vaccinations. He has been microchipped and neutered.

A big thank you to Ozubko Realty for sponsoring our vaccinations.

Doug is a social, playful young dog who’s learning everyday manners and settling skills. He loves other dogs, enjoys walks, and is friendly with people, children, and cats. Doug crates very well and settles easily with routine. With regular routines, enrichment, and positive reinforcement, Doug will thrive as a fun, well-rounded family dog.
