Hi there, I’m Wilfred — a tiny 5-pound sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles! I may be small, but I’m full of charm and affection. I’m very gentle and quiet, happiest when snuggled up beside someone I love. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up — especially if you offer gentle pets and soft words.
I love attention and will happily curl up in your lap or follow you around the house. My favorite pastime is playing with my dog friend Ellie and just about any toy I can get my paws on! When playtime is over, I settle easily and rest calmly, making me a peaceful little companion to have around.
I’m still a young pup, so I’m learning all the basics. I’m doing well with house training, though I’m still getting used to my crate and working on feeling comfortable in it. I walk nicely on leash and enjoy sniffing my way through the neighborhood, though cars can make me a little nervous. I also get a bit anxious in the car, so I’d appreciate some patience while I build my confidence.
I’m friendly with other dogs and even cats — I mostly just ignore them! I’ve met kids, too, and while I do well with them, I’d prefer a home with older children or adults who understand how delicate I am. My ideal home would be with someone who’s home most of the time and can give me the comfort and security I crave.
If you’re looking for a sweet, loving little companion who will melt into your arms and fill your days with quiet affection, I might just be your perfect match.
Hi, I’m Wilfred and I came to hart as an owner surrender from our community of focus. There a few things to note about my health which are important to consider if you’re thinking about adopting me .
First off, I’ve already undergone dental surgery to remove some retained baby teeth and as a result, a couple of my bottom molars decided not to grow in. Thankfully, the vet said that this likely won’t cause an issue for me but recommended dental x-rays in the future to ensure there is no dental impaction.
The vet also diagnosed me with Congenital Micropthalmia, or in other words… I have an abnormally small left eye. I can’t see out of this eye, but I was told I can likely live with this condition without issue.
Last but not least, I was also diagnosed with a Grade 2 heart murmur and will need to be re-assessed by a vet in 4-6 months post adoption to determine if it resolved or if further investigations are required.
Wilfried is up to date on DACPP, Bordatella, and Rabies vaccinations. He has been microchipped and neutered.
A big thank you to Ozubko Realty for sponsoring our vaccinations.
Wilfred is a gentle, affectionate young poodle who prefers a calm, predictable routine. He can be shy with new people and situations but warms up quickly with patience and reassurance. Wilfred rests calmly between bursts of quiet play and enjoys soft interaction and gentle affection. He’s still building confidence with crate time, car rides, and new environments but responds well to encouragement and positive experiences.
