Hi, I’m Norman!
I’m a shy, sweet, and curious guy looking for my forever home. I’ve been learning so much in my foster home, where I live with two awesome teenagers, a playful dog friend, a cat, and even a tortoise!
My favorite things are running around the yard with my dog buddy and getting belly rubs from the kids—those are the best.
I’m still learning to trust adults, but I’m making progress every day. I’m a little timid when it comes to new experiences, especially getting in the car (I’m not a fan of that yet!) and putting on my harness, but I promise, with time and patience, I’m a fast learner. I know when it’s time to go outside because I ring the bell—yep, I’ve got that down!
When I’m not running around with my dog friend or playing with the kids, I like to lie down on the couch or curl up under the deck to relax. I don’t love being crated, so I usually hang out in the living room when my foster family is out. I’m a pretty chill guy when left alone, and I just like to take it easy.
I would love a home where I can keep building my confidence with a dog buddy by my side and kids who understand my gentle nature. A calm home with a secure yard would be my ideal space to continue growing.
If you have room in your heart for a timid but sweet soul like me, I’d be honored to be your loyal companion!
Norman
Norman, along with his sister, came to HART from Parkland County Animal Shelter as a stray. Norman has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date with DACPP, rabies, bordatella and antiparasitics.
Norman is a gentle, shy dog who’s still learning to feel comfortable in new situations. He bonds strongly with the people he trusts and especially enjoys the company of kids and other dogs. Norman can be timid with adults at first and prefers calm, predictable interactions. He’s still building confidence with handling, car rides, and new environments, and will benefit from a patient adopter who can go at his pace. Norman would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help guide him, and with adopters who use positive reinforcement to help him continue growing in confidence.
