Hi there, I’m Snipes – your friendly, sweet old man with a heart full of love and a nose that can find food from a mile away! Life is good, and I’m looking for someone special to share it with.

I may be a senior, but don’t let that fool you – I still love a good game of ball. Toss me one, and I’ll be right there to chase it down and catch it with style. I also have a funny little hobby: I can spend hours quietly people-watching from the window, just taking in the world as the leaves fall and life passes by. No barking, no fuss – just me enjoying the view.

What makes me happiest, though, is being with my person. Wherever you are, that’s my favorite spot. I’ll rest calmly nearby, following you from room to room just to be part of your day. Visitors? Oh, I love them too! My tail wags nonstop when friends stop by, and after a few pets and scratches, I settle right back down.

I’m polite with other dogs, gentle with strangers, and an all-around easygoing guy. No accidents in the house, no chewing, no fuss. Car rides make me happy, though I might need a little help getting in and out because of my joints. I do have some arthritis, so short walks and a home without lots of stairs are best for me.

What I’m really looking for is a calm home with someone who will appreciate the company of a loyal, gentle soul. I don’t need much – just love, a cozy spot, and a ball or two to chase. If you’re looking for a sweet companion to share life’s quiet joys, I might just be your guy.

This Senior boy came to hart from Parkland County Animal Shelter as a stray but don’t let his age fool you, he still has lots of love to give. Snipes has some lumps throughout his body which have been assessed as benign. Snipes is currently receiving monthly labrella injections, daily metacam and daily glucosamine/omega 3 supplements for joint maintenance/pain minimization. To ensure that Snipes will continue to live his Golden Years to the fullest, the adoptive home must be willing and able to maintain his current medication regimen. Snipes is up to date on DACPP, Bordatella, and Rabies vaccinations. He has been microchipped and neutered.

Snipes is a calm, well-mannered senior who thrives on companionship and routine. He’s fully house-trained, gentle with handling, and polite with other dogs. He enjoys greeting visitors, settles quickly after excitement, and shows no signs of resource guarding. Because of arthritis, Snipes benefits from enrichment like gentle ball tosses, food puzzles, and scent games that keep his mind engaged without putting strain on his body.
