Hey there! I’m Elvis – your ultimate adventure buddy and cuddle bug wrapped up in one goofy, lovable package. Got energy? So do I! I’m always ready to roll, especially if it means getting outside, playing fetch, or – my personal favorite – diving into the water. Swimming is my jam, and honestly, I’ll jump into any body of water or even a shower if you let me. What can I say? I’m a water enthusiast!

My foster mom says I’m the perfect blend of playful and sweet. I’m super gentle, especially with little kids, and I’ve got a soft spot for babies. I just love keeping an eye on them, making sure they’re safe. But don’t let my nurturing side fool you – I’m also a total goofball who’s always up for fun! Wrestling with my dog friends (young lady pups my size are my best playmates) is one of my favorite activities, and I’m always up for a game of fetch. Throw a ball or stick, and I’ll bring it back every single time with my signature goofy grin.

When it’s time to wind down, I’m a master snuggler. My favorite napping position? Flat on my back with my paws in the air – it’s the ultimate way to recharge after an action-packed day. And don’t be surprised if you find me snoozing like that or following you around with my ever-wagging tail.

The best part? I’m a go-with-the-flow kind of guy. I don’t really have any dislikes – just lots of love to give! Whether you’re up for an adventure or a cozy night in, I’m your perfect partner. If you’re looking for a playful, people-loving, water-obsessed, and loyal companion who’s ready to hop in the car (or the nearest puddle), then let’s meet up soon! I’m Elvis, and I promise to bring endless smiles and joy to your life.

Elvis came to hart August 2023 with bald spots and scabby sores. While we have lots of experience with mange and with skin sensitivities, Elvis took us on a new journey. Between treatments and food trials, we would take one step forward and then Elvis would experience a skin flare up. Our dermatology specialist finally diagnosed Elvis with demodicosis. Canine demodicosis occurs when large numbers of demodex canis mites inhabit hair follicles and sebaceous glands. What this means for Elvis is that he will require lengthy and ongoing treatment. Because Elvis is still considered a juvenile, there is still a chance that his system may be able to resolve the overpopulation of demodex mites. However adoptive parents need to be aware that Elvis may require dermatologic support for the remainder of his life and that they will assume that responsibility, working with their veterinary team.

Elvis generally gets a long with most dogs and displays appropriate behaviour but may need some additional support during high energy play. Elvis does display some resource guarding behaviours and FH will be working on this.
