Hey there, I’m Xen (pronounced Zen)! Don’t let my name fool you – I’m a puppy, which means I’ve got plenty of energy to burn!

 I thrive on regular exercise and playtime. I love going for walks, running around in the yard, playing with balls and toys, and hanging out with my furry foster siblings. I’m always up for some fun, and I love getting everyone involved in the action! 

People are my favorite, especially the little ones I meet around the neighborhood. Sometimes I get a bit too excited and playful, but I’m working on keeping things calm and cool – just like my name suggests.

I’m doing great with crate training and house training, though I’m still a puppy, so I’m not completely there yet. I’m also still adjusting to my crate, and I might whine or bark a bit when I first go in, but I’m learning!

I’d love to find a home with another dog and some kids to play with, but I’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only. And if you’re into veggies, we’re going to get along just fine – I’m a veggie-loving pup!

Concerned residents contacted hart about a young dog who was wandering around. The dog, who became Xen in hart’s care, was underweight and had two large lumps on his back. The abscesses ruptured and when examined by a veterinary partner, it is believed that they could have been infected puncture wounds. No worries though as Xen is all healed up and has benefited from a healthy and consistent diet. One of the things we love about Xen is his crooked tail. The unfortunate part is that it is due to a break in his past but makes for an adorable tail wag. While Xen was in care he also needed to get one of his upper canines removed due to an abscess. The vet also remarked that Xen had a bit of crowding with his teeth so we have monitored but found no further issues. Xen is is ready for adoption and is up to date on DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies, is neutered and microchipped.
