Ursela is one of Uma’s puppies who were found living in an abandoned bus during the cold snap in December. hart volunteers were able to rescue this family just days after the puppies’ birth, and while they were very cold and hungry, had no major health concerns.
In February, Ursela’s littermates became lethargic and had diarrhea. Parvo was highly suspected and confirmed with SNAP tests upon arrival at our veterinary partners. Parvovirus is a particularly deadly disease in young puppies, causing gastrointestinal tract damage and dehydration. While Ursela did not require hospitalization, it is presumed that she also had Parvovirus but was able to fight this on her own.
She will be up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.
Ursela is a typical puppy that will require lots of training and patience from her adopters. She is crate trained and potty training is going well. She is a very sweet girl who loves snuggles and gets along great with other dogs.
