Uno is one of Uma’s puppies who were found living in an abandoned bus during the cold snap in December. HART volunteers were able to rescue the little family just days after the puppies’ birth. While they were all very cold and hungry, had no major health concerns.
In February, Uno and her littermates became lethargic and had diarrhea. Parvo was highly suspected and confirmed with a SNAP test upon arrival at one of our veterinary partners. Parvovirus is a particularly deadly disease in young puppies, causing gastrointestinal tract damage and dehydration. Fortunately, hart was able to provide the supportive treatments that Uno needed – IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medication and anti-emetics. Uno is recovering well.
She will be up to date with all her vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.
Uno is a typical puppy who will require lots of patience and training! She was one of the smallest puppies in the litter, but has begun catching up to her littermates in size. Her foster mom says she is a cuddle bug, and just so sweet! Her adoptive home will need to have plenty of time for play and snuggles to help this little girl become the best-est companion she can be.
