Unity was one of Uma’s puppies who were found living in an abandoned bus during the cold snap last December. HART volunteers were able to rescue the little family just days after the puppies’ birth. While they were cold and hungry at the time, there were no major health concerns noted.
In February, Unity and her littermates became lethargic and had diarrhea. Parvo was highly suspected and confirmed with a SNAP test upon arrival at one of our veterinary partners. Parvovirus is a particularly deadly disease in young puppies, causing gastrointestinal tract damage and dehydration. Fortunately, hart was able to provide the supportive treatments that Unity needed – IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medication and anti-emetics. Unity is recovering well.
She will be up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.
Unity is a typical puppy who will require a lot of training and patience from her adopter. She is very busy growing and learning how to be the cutest best-est girl. Her foster home says that she is not very loud or bossy, just a mellow lady who blends right in with the pack.
