Ulie was one of Uma’s puppies who volunteers found living in an abandoned bus during the cold snap in December. HART volunteers were able to rescue this little family just days after the puppies’ birth.  While cold and hungry at the time, they had no major health concerns.

In February,  Ulie and her littermates became lethargic and had diarrhea. Parvo was highly suspected and confirmed with a SNAP test upon arrival at one of our veterinary partners. Parvovirus is a particularly deadly disease in young puppies, causing gastrointestinal tract damage and dehydration. Fortunately, hart was able to provide the supportive treatments that Ulie needed – IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medication and anti-emetics.  Ulie is recovering well.

She will be up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.

Ulie is a very typical puppy who will need all the usual training and patience that it takes to raise a puppy.  Ulie is the baby of the family, and while we wouldn’t go so far as to call her the “runt”, she’s definitely more petite than all of her littermates.   But don’t let her size fool you! She is blissfully unaware of her smaller stature, and has lots to say.   We think if she could speak, we would be hearing lots of ” what for, move it, buster!” when playing with her brothers and sisters.
