Uggy is one of Uma’s puppies who were found living in an abandoned bus during the cold snap in December. HART volunteers were able to rescue this family just days after the puppies’ birth, and while they were very cold and hungry, had no major health concerns.
In February, Uggy and his littermates became lethargic and had diarrhea. Parvo was highly suspected and confirmed with a SNAP test upon arrival at one of our veterinary partners. Parvovirus is a particularly deadly disease in young puppies, causing gastrointestinal tract damage and dehydration. Fortunately, hart was able to provide the supportive treatments that Uggy needed – IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medication and anti-emetics. Uggy is recovering well.
He will be up to date with all his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.
Uggy is a typical puppy who will require lots of training and patience! He is a handsome guy, and just loves to tear it up during playtime. So an adoptive home that is active and will have lots of time for activities and training will be the best fit for this little guy!
