Ubba is one of Uma’s puppies who were found living in an abandoned bus during the cold snap last December.  HART volunteers were able to rescue this little family just days after the puppies’ birth.  While they were very cold and hungry at the time, no major health concerns were noted.  He will be up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.

In February,  Ubba’s littermates became lethargic and had diarrhea. Parvo was highly suspected and confirmed with SNAP tests upon arrival at our veterinary partners. Parvovirus is a particularly deadly disease in young puppies, causing gastrointestinal tract damage and dehydration.  While Ubba did not require hospitalization, it is presumed that he also had Parvovirus but was able to fight this on his own.

Ubba is a typical puppy and will require lots of patience and training!  He’s also the biggest one of the litter, but don’t let his size fool you, his foster mom says he is not one to play rough.  He has won the hearts of a couple of our volunteers, and they refer to him lovingly as “Griz” because of his resemblance to a little grizzly bear.    He also loves to sleep in the most uncomfortable positions, but who are we to judge!
