Hi! I’m Rocky!

I am receptive to different environments so with some time and patience, I should fit into any type of home.  I have had doggy playmates in the past but can get quite excited and reactive to other dogs while on leash so I’d likely prefer to have all the attention to myself in the home.  I haven’t been exposed to cats while in hart’s care but I do have prey drive so might not do well with smaller animals.  I have been around kids young and old and was fine with them but because I use my mouth when excited, younger kids are not recommended.  I am crate trained and I know how to sit, shake, stay, spin, lay down, come, kennel up, and my foster home is working on muzzle training with me. I have very good recall, but sometimes ignore commands when very excited.  I like to learn tricks and am excited to just get kibble as a reward. I am smart and would probably love an owner who could teach me more.

Rocky came into hart’s care from our community of focus as he wasn’t getting the care that he needed. He was malnourished and had a belly full of worms but after some healthy meals and deworming he improved greatly. While in Hart’s care it was discovered that Rocky was having seizures. He has been under the vets care for a while now and has had numerous tests and it was deemed that he has epilepsy. Rocky has been through months of testing, monitoring and adjusting his medications. His veterinary team believe Rocky is ready for adoption as his epilepsy is being well managed with his current medications and dosages. His adoptive parents need to know that this is a chronic condition for which he will require medication and monitoring as he may still have seizures in the future. Rocky is up to date on his standard antiparasitics, vaccinations (DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies), microchip and is neutered.

No behaviour concerns to note.
