Paco showed up at a property asking politely for help with his really itchy skin and then found his way into hart’s care. Paco was diagnosed and treated for demodectic mange. Demodectic mange is caused by tiny mites on the skin that are normal and always present in small numbers but when a dog’s immune system is compromised, the number of mites get out of control. When this happens there can be hair loss, scabbing and sores and the dog is usually itchy and uncomfortable, which is how Paco’s mange presented. While Paco was being treated for mange it seems that he got a case of puppy strangles, otherwise known as juvenile cellulitis, which presented as swelling of his face and muzzle. Paco experienced a hematoma in his scrotum after his neuter.  He was rushed back to the vet the following day and had his scrotum surgically removed to avoid ongoing pain. Paco has fully recovered and is up to date with DACPP, Bordetella, and Rabies.  He is neutered and microchipped.

” Hi! I’m Paco, the handsome guy in the bow tie!  I was sure in rough shape when I was rescued by HART, but you wouldn’t even recognize me now!  I’m a happy, friendly guy who loves to play and be with his people.  I love being outdoors too.  If you have a nice yard for me to play in, I think that would be pretty great.  I also love other dogs, hugs, and naps.  I like to lie on my back and stick my long legs up in the air while I nap.  Some people think I look funny, but hey, it’s a great position to nap in!  I’m really quite easy going, so if you are looking for someone like to me join your family,  I think we’d probably get along just great.   If you think so too, click on the “Adopt Me” button below.  I would love to meet you !”
