Hi there! My name is Dojo, and I’m here to steal your heart (and maybe your shoes too)! I’ve been staying with my foster family, which includes two awesome humans, a beautiful dog named Rumi, and a sassy old cat named Ron. We have a pretty laid-back vibe here, but we make sure to get our daily walks in!

I’m not a huge fan of being touched unless it’s on my terms, but I promise I’m working on it with the help of a trainer. When I’m not being sensitive about my personal space, you’ll find me bouncing around with excitement whenever someone new comes through the door. I’m a morning person, so I love starting my day with some zoomies in the yard, but I’m also a pro at chilling on the couch for hours.

Playing is my jam! If you’re not up for a game, don’t worry—I’ll make sure you are by dropping toys on your head until you give in. I’m also a big fan of walks, especially off-leash time at the farm. Oh, and car rides? Count me in! I’ll snooze the whole way there.

I’m a social butterfly, especially when it comes to other dogs. I’ve met dogs of all sizes, and while I can be a bit of a pest sometimes, I’m usually pretty chill. As for cats, I love my kitty brother Ron and always treat him with respect.

I’m a lover, not a fighter, and I adore humans of all shapes and sizes. Kids are cool too, but I might be a bit much for the little ones—I tend to get overly excited and forget my manners. So, a home with older kids or teens would suit me best.

I’m house and crate trained, and I’m a pro traveler in the car. Just watch out for my side-eye—I’m pretty expressive when I’m annoyed, especially if someone’s laying on a toy I want to play with. Oh, and did I mention I have a thing for putting stuff on people’s heads? It’s my special talent!

So, if you’re looking for a fun-loving, shoe-stealing, cuddle bug to join your family, I’m your guy! A big yard, some doggy pals, and a front window to watch the world go by would be the icing on the cake for me. Let’s make some memories together! 🐾

– Love, Dojo

Dojo came to hart from our community of focus with a little cough and some eye discharge. Because of a distemper outbreak in the area, out of an abundance of caution, Dojo visited our vet partners. Good news is that his tests were all clear. Dojo is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is neutered and microchipped and ready to move in with his adoptive family.

Dojo is touch sensitive to his collar and leash and during exams. Dojo doesn’t like hands coming around his head/shoulders. Dojo and his foster home are incorporating desensitization into his training and working with a trainer.  Ongoing training to support Dojo may be required once he moves into his forever home.
