” Hi, I’m Balto! 

I’m a 7-year-old cuddle bug in search of my special someone to share all my love and affection with.  I’m well-behaved and know all the basic commands, and I think that makes me the best kind of companion! 

I absolutely love napping and cuddling up with my humans.  There’s nothing better than providing warmth and comfort while receiving pets and scratches in return.  Spending time outdoors (I love the snow!) is one of my favourite things, especially when I have a large yard to run and play fetch in.  If you have a spacious yard, I would be in heaven!  

I do have one little quirk – I am not a fan of vet visits.  They make me a bit nervous.  So, having a calm and reassuring presence during those times would mean the world to me.

Balto originally came to hart from an ASNTF (now CATF) spay/neuter clinic in 2019. He was adopted, but in July of 2023 his adoptive parents could no longer provide the environment that Balto required and Balto came back into hart’s care. Since that time we have helped Balto lose a few extra pounds and get up to date on vaccines. Balto is not a fan of the vet and has been prescribed calming meds prior to his visits. Balto is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is neutered and microchipped and ready to find his truly fur-ever family.

No serious behavior concerns other then his fear of vets. Would recommend companion vet or to be muzzled while in vet office. Has done well with older children, resident cats and dog. Pulls a bit on leash, but is a big dude but is improving everyday.
